Early Catastrophic Failure Detection (ECFD)
The Early Catastrophic Failure Detection (ECFD) utilizes statistical data analysis to identify issues early. Upon detecting an issue, a Warning will be triggered, providing details about the problem along with common solutions for resolution. ECFD does not send out alerts however it functions as a valuable tool providing early warnings of potential issues or failures.
Every day, the system analyzes the past 24 hours of data from your devices for three key factors: crossing the Low Temperature Threshold, crossing the High Temperature Threshold, and identifying outliers.
Low Temperature Threshold Crosses – The temperature data from each device over the past 24 hours is compared with the Low Temperature Threshold configured for that device. If the device's temperature has exceeded the threshold more than five times, an ECFD Warning is triggered.
High Temperature Threshold Crosses – The temperature data from each device over the past 24 hours is reviewed against the High Temperature Threshold configured for that device. If the device's temperature has surpassed the threshold more than five times, an ECFD Warning is activated.
Outliers – The temperature data from the past 24 hours is averaged and subsequently compared with data from other devices at the same location. Employing statistical data analysis techniques, the devices are grouped based on their average temperatures. If a device doesn't fit into any of these groups, it's identified as an outlier, triggering an ECFD Warning alarm to notify of this discrepancy.
Upon your initial login, you'll find a new ECFD widget on your dashboard. Inside, you'll discover a list of your subscribed locations for ECFD. To begin viewing ECFD data, just click on the row corresponding to the location you want to examine.
Note: If your location has been broken up into multiple departments, only the overall location will be displayed.
The ECFD Device Information widget is where you can see the ECFD status and information about each device at the location.
Health – Indicates whether the ECFD analysis has raised any ECFD warnings for the device.
Green = The analysis found a no potential issue(s)
Yellow = The analysis found a potential issue(s)
Reason – A description of the issue(s) that was found with the device.
Advice – Possible solutions to help solve the issue with the device(s).
The Alarms widget on the ECFD page is where you can view all the ECFD Warning alarms raised against the devices at the selected location.
The Average Temperature widget displays the history of the average temperature of the devices at the selected location that have been gathered and used for the ECFD analysis.
The Low Temperature Threshold Crosses and High Temperature Threshold Crosses widgets display the history of the number of threshold crosses that was found each day for the devices at the selected location.
